Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until it's between 100°F to 110°F.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, sugar, salt, softened butter, eggs, and 5 1/2 cups of flour. Mix on low speed until combined.
  3. Increase speed to medium; gradually add remaining flour until dough is slightly sticky but pulls away from the bowl.
  4. Transfer dough to a greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled in size (about 90 minutes).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 24 pieces; shape into round balls.
  6. Place on a greased baking sheet; cover and let rise again until doubled (about 1 hour).
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake rolls for 12–14 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Brush with melted butter before serving.
