  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 large carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 46 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 can crushed San Marzano tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • Seasonings: bay leaves, oregano, thyme, rosemary, salt, black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat beef cubes dry; season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear beef on all sides until browned; set aside.
