  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Brown the pork chops in olive oil for 3-4 minutes per side; set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions in butter until translucent.
  5. Prepare cheese sauce by whisking flour into onions, then gradually adding milk and chicken broth until thickened.
  6. Stir in thyme, paprika, and one cup of cheese until melted.
  7. Layer half of sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish; top with half of the cheese sauce.
  8. Place browned pork chops over potatoes, add remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
  9. Top with remaining cheese; cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
