Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 cups fresh vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, snap peas)
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or brown rice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp chili paste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak by combining soy sauce and brown sugar in a bowl; add the sliced steak and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the vegetables until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the marinated steak on high heat for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
  4. For the sauce, heat heavy cream and chili paste in a saucepan until warmed through and slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  5. Assemble each bowl by placing cooked rice at the bottom, topping with sautéed vegetables and steak slices. Drizzle generously with spicy cream sauce before serving.
