  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
  • Food coloring (red & blue)
  • Red, white & blue sprinkles (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, Greek yogurt, and water until combined.
  2. Divide batter into three bowls; color one red, one blue, and leave the third uncolored.
  3. Pour each colored batter into greased baking dishes; bake for 12–15 minutes until cooked through. Cool completely.
  4. Crumble cooled cakes into a large bowl. Shape into small balls using about 1–2 tablespoons of crumbled cake.
  5. Insert straws and chill for one hour.
  6. Melt candy melts with vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled ball into melted coating and sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles while still wet.
  8. Chill again for at least thirty minutes before serving.
