  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated or brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. If using homemade dough, prepare and refrigerate it. If using store-bought, ensure it's fully thawed.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine diced apples, cornstarch, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar over medium heat; cook until bubbling.
  3. Cool the apple filling for about 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into squares; fill each with apple mixture and seal edges.
  6. Brush with egg wash and create steam vents on top before baking for 23–25 minutes until golden brown.
