  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1¼ cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and peanut butter with a mixer until fluffy.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar and brown sugar; mix until combined.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and mix after each addition; stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Chill dough for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  8. Scoop dough into balls (1 to 1½ inches) and roll in granulated sugar.
  9. Place on the prepared baking sheet and press with a fork to create a criss-cross pattern.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes; let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
