  • 8 cups apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • 3/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (divided)
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (divided)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. For the crust, beat together softened butter and 1/2 cup granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in flour, salt, and cinnamon until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. While crust is baking, mix sliced apples with remaining granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  4. For the streusel topping, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Spread apple mixture over baked crust and sprinkle streusel on top. Bake for an additional 45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
