  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • Zest and juice from 4 oranges
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, cream together butter and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add orange zest.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix yogurt with orange juice and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture and yogurt mixture to the batter alternately.
  5. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 45–55 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. While cooling, make the syrup by simmering remaining sugar with orange juice until dissolved.
