  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef. Add chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef mixture; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine beef broth, optional milk, Italian seasoning, and paprika in a bowl; pour over layers.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
