  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 8 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 12 oz Reames Frozen Egg Noodles
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (for roux)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs (cooked and shredded)

Instructions

  1. In a large stockpot over medium heat, melt butter and sauté carrots, celery, and onion until tender (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add chicken broth and water; bring to a boil. Stir in seasonings and Reames Frozen Egg Noodles; boil for about 15 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, melt remaining butter to create roux with flour until golden brown (1–2 minutes). Gradually whisk in milk and cream until smooth.
  4. Combine the creamy mixture with the soup base and add shredded chicken. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until noodles are tender.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.
